It snowed in Houston!
Here's my best snowman! He's about 4 inches tall!!

I was looking at our pictures and noticed that most of them contained Caleb and of course Tayce (because he is of course the cutest one in the family). So I decided that I needed to show my face. So here it is along with a sweet grin from Tayce.

Wide-eyed look

Tayce is usually all smiles when he wakes up and I was trying to capture his huge grin, but everytime I tried to take the picture he would give me this wide-eyed look when the light would come on before the flash. I finally just gave up after getting three pictures like this. The other pciture is of Tayce in his little bouncer chair. He is always entertaining me with all of his many sounds and expressions.

Hanging out as "Duncan"

This is a little bit big on Tayce, but Caleb couldn't wait to try it out. Caleb really can't wait until the day that he can take Tayce to a basketball game wearing this jersey. He does make a cute little Spur!

Here is Caleb and Tayce sleeping. Well, Caleb wasn't really sleeping, but he likes to try and mimic our son, because they do look a lot alike and Tayce is so darn cute!
It appears that Tayce is getting a little bit more peach fuzz! If you look closely, you might be able to see it.

Here is our trip to the Houston temple when my parents were here. It's a very pretty temple and I'm glad that we don't live very far from it.

Here is one of Tayce's first rice meals. He loves it, but he does have a hard time keeping his hands out of the way during the process, thus making more messes! All the more for mommy to clean up.

Ride 'em Cowboy!

Here is Tayce trying out his skills as a cowboy. He clearly still has a long way to go. Kaboo doesn't seem to enjoy the role of the horse too much!I just like this picture. Tayce has a really cute look on his face!

Studying for the big exam

Here is Caleb hard at work, studying for his big exam, oh, wait! That's Kaboo hitting the books. I think that Caleb was hoping for the power of telepathy through Kaboo because Kaboo seems to be the only one really studying.

Dress-up time!

Here is Tayce dressed up as a hot chile pepper for Halloween. He wasn't very thrilled with his costume, but he sure makes a cute chile pepper.
Kaya got eaten by a lobster!
Kaboo is one hot dog! As you can tell, he was so excited about the whole trick-or-treating idea!
Here is Tayce all dressed up in his duck robe in the duck bathroom. I "quacked" up when I took the picture

Living in Houston

Tayce and I arrived in Houston last Tuesday. The plane ride went well. Tayce tolerated it just fine. There was a lady sitting behind me when we were getting off the plane that stated, "I didn't know there was a baby. That's what the stewardess kept stopping to smile at." Tayce has been on half the plane rides that I have ever been on and he is just 4 months old! My parents drove the dogs here all the way from Idaho. The dogs didn't do too bad themselves, except Kaya didn't use the bathroom for 24 hours. Now that dog has a bladder! She is such a nervous little thing that the world practicaly has to be silent in order for her to go to the bathroom.

My parents stayed for a couple of days, so we showed them where we plan on living and took a trip out to the temple. We took pictures, but as of now, I don't have a very strong connection, so it would take hours to upload the pictures, but they will be coming soon! Caleb bought a GPS unit, which my parents named Taloula or Taloulou (depending on which one you talk to). She has been a life-saver, especially for me. There have been many times that I have taken a wrong turn and she has gotten me back on the right path. The freeway system down here is very overwhelming for me. First you have to be on the left to get on the right freeway and then in half of a mile you have to be clear on the right. It wouldn't be so bad if there was no one else on the road. I have just decided to stay out in my own little community and let Caleb do all the driving downtown.

As of right now we are renting an unfurnished one-bedroom apartment until we are able to make an offer on the house we want. Unfortunately all of our furniture is back in Idaho, so we have been hanging out on camping chairs and sleeping on an air mattress. Thanks to some good friends, our furniture will soon be on its way! In the meantime we have been enjoying the luxuries of our built in cup holders and luckily we have been able to acquire a wireless signal or I think that we would both go crazy.

I have had a job interview with Cypress-Fairbanks Medical Center. I had an interview with the manager and a peer interview. I believe that both went well. I'm just waiting for a call from Human Resources. If I do get this job, I will have an opportunity to start working in pediatrics and some post-partum, both areas that I have been interested in.

That's about all of our excitement for now. Caleb is studying for his test which will be on Monday right now. Later, Caleb and I plan to go work out at the fitness center in our apartment complex. (Part of the reason is so we can watch The Office on tv.) I guess whatever will motiviate us! Once we get our internet, which should come this Saturday, I will post all of the pictures that have been building up. I hope that won't take me too long to do!

Here's some pictures of Tayce in his late night plotting to torture Nicole!

Sunday, September 28, 2008

Here we are watching Sunday Night Football while Nicole is watching a movie on TV! Tayce is just going to love sports like his dad! Then, we decided to take a nap! We were both tired! Actually, these pictures were taken days apart, but all the same, it's great having him here with me in Houston! It's amazing how big he's getting!
Now we just need someone to buy our house so we can live together here permanently!

Time for a walk!

Here is Tayce getting ready to go for walk. He loves his walks, or I guess, stoller ride. He stays awake the whole time. I'm not quite sure what he was thinking in the second picture, but the look on his face is priceless.

Monday, September 8, 2008

Here's Tayce, looking all grown up. Unfortunately, I wasn't there to see him, but hopefully soon enough. I just think that he looks old in this picture! Kind of like mini-me!

Escape Artist, Treasure Hunter, or Both?

Sure, he may look innocent, but Kaboo has been up to a little mischief lately. He has discovered how to dig and has dug himself free from the back yard a few times. He has been found by my neighbors just frolicking about the neighborhood. On his last attempt, he unearthed a ceramic bowl. Which leads to the question is he an escape artist or treasure hunter? Well, after some contemplation, I have decided that the treasure he unearthed is not much of a treasure. If he had discovered gold or even a treasure box he might have fallen under the treasure hunter category. So unfortunately, he will be labeled an escape artist. He apparently cannot use his smashed up nose to find anything of worth, just some old dirty dish that I would have to end up washing.

Cute Little Tayce

Just a few pictures of the cute little guy! He just loves to make noises, especially after he is done eating and his diaper is changed. What a happy little baby! He always makes my day with his cute little noises and his grins.

Tayce at the Beach

Tayce was so excited to be at the beach. You can see it all over his face. . . . Maybe next year he may be a little more thrilled about the whole thing, but he sure looked cute in his little beach outfit!

The proud parents

The proud parents of all those little pugs. You can tell, Kaboo is so excited about all of his new bundles of joy!

Our new editions

Kaya and Kaboo are the proud parents of 6 little pups. They were born August 22. All are happy and healthy.
Cute little tongue!
Here are the rest of them doing what they do best right now - sleeping!

Caleb in DC

Well, here I am in DC, winning at Mini-Golf! I just whooped everyone and I'm gloating at the beat down!
